Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XIV (also known as Gridiron XIV) will be bringing NFL players off the gridiron and into the community. On Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., the Butler University Hinkle Fieldhouse will play host to Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XIV, the first and only charity celebrity basketball game to have ever become officially sanctioned by the National Football League. Now independently and separately produced exclusively by Jam Sports Productions, Gridiron XIV is where NFL players, prospective draft picks, popular sports icons, world-renowned streetballers, and celebrities from music, television, and film join together for a thrilling game of action-packed basketball.

Yes, NFL players who think they are equally as talented in basketball as they are in football vie for bragging rights to show how multi-athletic they truly are. Over three dozen pro athletes and celebrities will take center court, coach, host, perform, DJ and MC. Our athletes and entertainers boldly rise to the challenge to see who’s got game!

Since its inception Gridiron XIV has grown into a unique and fundamental component of Super Bowl weekend that delivers relevant interaction to arena fans. Gridiron XIV offers football fans of all ages and levels of interest a lifetime experience to witness the Best of Both Worlds - their favorite football heroes and popular celebrities play in a competitive game of basketball. In addition to this electrifying star-studded event, fans will be able to Meet and Greet the celebrities, get free autographs, take pictures, and participate in fun and safe indoor sports-themed contests in an environment where they feel the energy of the sights, sounds and actions the NFL has to offer. To date, Gridiron XIV continues to be the premier all-star charity-basketball game that garners support from some of the NFL’s most notable and prolific players and provides "family entertainment" to a diverse audience of multiple communities across the nation.

Enjoy our version of the historical showdown between two superior celebrity teams: The NFC (National Foster Care) and the AFC (American Foster Care). Our event has a purposeful “extra point” - it benefits children who have suffered from devastation, isolation, violence, and more. With your personal passion for youth, we are optimistic that you will aid us as we continue our fundraising efforts to heal the emotional and physical scars that the youths that we serve have suffered - youths who look forward to a special day of VIP treatment. At Gridiron XIV the many youths from the foster care programs are the game’s true MVPs (Most Valuable People). The program’s benefactor is Juli’s Kids Motivated to Succeed (Juli’s Kids), a non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of today’s abused, abandoned, homeless and neglected children who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful homes by child protective services and placed in private group homes or temporarily connected with foster care parents. Because of the pain children suffer from the disruption of their family lives, Juli’s Kids is steadfast in its’ goal to strengthen the outreach to foster care and adoption programs and shine a national spotlight on the child abuse epidemic. At Juli’s Kids the organization highlights the importance of “Fostering Hope, Fostering Care, Inspiring Infinite Possibilities.”

During these days of economic downturn, charities, who have suffered the most, are unfortunately those who need the most. Every year Juli’s Kids selects a local social services charity to make a donation to, as well as provides VIP tickets so that youths in various programs can attend Super Bowl weekend events as our complimentary guests. This year we have selected the Indiana Department of Child Services and the various foster care organization’s under its supervision to be the recipients of part of the proceeds. We will work with DFPS and many other worthy organizations to bring about rewarding change to positively impact the prosperity of the kids and the communities. Assisting vulnerable youths has been particularly challenging this year, but we know leaders and humanitarians, like you, when informed of what we are trying to accomplish, will open your hearts and accept our invitation to help. The number of children we serve continues to grow. Simply stated, without help from celebrities, philanthropists and corporate sponsors with a heart for children, we will not be successful at providing care, counseling, prevention programs, transitional living, foster care emergency shelter and family placements to youths who come into the system as young as 1 day old and some who stay until age 21.

We are ready to deliver an exciting and premiere quality event that changes the lives of foster care youths who need stable, nurturing families and other enduring connections to grow and develop to their full potential.
