Next to the Super Bowl itself, Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XV will be the hottest game ticket in town! As we enter our 15th season of production, this unmatched fan-favorite interactive experience remains one of the most anticipated events held annually the night before the “Big Game.” This upcoming Gridiron game is especially one-of-a-kind because not only does it mark our record-breaking 15th anniversary, but it also highlights our corporate presidents’ personal achievement as the very first African-American and first woman in the 93 year history of the National Football League and the 47 year history of Super Bowl to produce an event annually held during the Super Bowl weekend to reach the 15 year mark. As a minority-owned company, this is a major milestone and an outstanding achievement. We have intertwined the basketball term “and 1” and embraced a phrase “15 and 1” to symbolize the 15 year accomplishment of this electric basketball game, and Juli Jordan becoming a 1st in sports history.
On Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 7 p.m., at Xavier University Convocation Center, the Big Easy will play host to Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XV, the first and only charity celebrity basketball game to have ever become officially sanctioned by the National Football League. Now independently and separately produced exclusively by Jam Sports Productions, Gridiron XV is where NFL players, prospective draft picks, popular sports icons, boxer champions, world-renowned streetballers, and music artists, and actors join together for a thrilling game of action packed basketball. This is where NFL players who think they are equally as talented in basketball as they are in football vie for bragging rights to show how multi-athletic they truly are. Over three dozen pro athletes and celebrities will take center court, and play, coach, host, perform, DJ and MC. Our athletes and entertainers boldly rise to the challenge to see whose still got game!
Since its inception, Gridiron XV has grown into a unique and fundamental component of Super Bowl weekend that delivers exciting fan interaction to a fun audience of professional athletes, foster care youth and celebrities. By incorporating our version of the historical showdown between two superior celebrity teams: The *NFC* (National Foster Care) and the *AFC* (American Foster Care), we are able to offer football fans of all ages and levels of interest the opportunity to witness the Best of Both Worlds – their favorite football heroes/players and popular celebrities playing in a competitive game of basketball. We allow select fans the opportunity to meet and greet celebrities, get free autographs, take pictures, and participate in fun and safe indoor sports-themed contests in an environment full of the energy, sights and sounds of the NFL. We have worked with some of the biggest names in the NFL along with other entertainers including Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductee, Emmitt Smith, National Basketball Association champion and Gold medalist, Magic Johnson, current Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Hip-Hop icon, Jay-Z, and Academy Award winner and Grammy winner, Jamie Foxx.
Last year Team T.O. beat out Team J. Cole in a thrilling game of action-packed basketball. With the return of many great ankle-breakers who have played over the years, and the introduction of some new faces and game-changers, this game will continue to reign as THE premiere hoops event of this star-studded weekend! Like our tagline warns, Brace Yourself! If you missed last year in Indy, you missed seeing Dallas Cowboys Dez Bryant and Green Bay Packers Adrian Battles, along with renowned dunkers compete in a crazy off-the-chain slam dunk contest.
To date, Gridiron
XV continues to be the premier all-star charity-basketball game that
garners support from some of the NFL’s most notable and prolific
players and provides "family entertainment" to a diverse audience of multiple
communities across the nation.
Over the past 15 years, Jam Sports Productions, LLC has partnered with corporations that have helped us produce an unprecedented event of champions! Each year we hope that even more corporations and celebrities will join us in putting on one of the greatest charity events of the year.
During these trying times of economic downturn, it is charities that have suffered the most, yet they are unfortunately the ones who need the most. Our country is experiencing a child abuse epidemic. From the latest headline allegations of sexual abuse at the hands of trusted adults, including teachers, clergy and coaches, to bullying by youth-aged peers, our children are suffering unprecedented painful mental and physical trauma. While the championship weekend is underway, we will once again take center stage and continue our tireless campaign to raise awareness and share information on how we can protect and support the most delicate and vulnerable among us – our children, our future. Simply stated, without help from celebrities, philanthropists, world leaders, politicians, and corporate sponsors with a heart for children, we will not be successful at providing care, counseling, prevention programs, transitional living, foster care, emergency shelter and family placements to youths who come into the system as young as 1 day old and some who stay until age 21.
We would like to invite you to join us at Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XV. We would be more than honored to have you huddle up with us in making our monumental 15th season a huge success. Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XV is not only the premier event of Super Bowl weekend, but also our keynote evening in which we benefit children who have suffered from devastation, isolation, violence and more. Our unmatched game experience brings the issues of child abuse and foster care to the forefront on a national scale.
When you purchase a ticket, you show you are helping to make a change. All of our ticket-purchasers will be recognized as philanthropists that realize the importance of giving back to the devastated New Orleans community amidst the celebrations and parties that will be happening throughout the city. Hurricane Katrina took many lives and devastated many families. We hope individuals with a heart of gold, like you, will help the foster children who were afflicted by Hurricane Katrina and other unfortunate circumstances. New Orleans is still a growing market that is trying to recover from the economic ripple effects of Hurricane Katrina. More than 137,768 kids were displaced in Louisiana after the unfortunate events of Hurricane Katrina, so it is very important that we uplift the children in the region. We are working vigorously to heal emotional and physical scars that the toddlers, teens and young adults that we serve have suffered – youths look forward to a special unforgettable day of VIP treatment.
